In Year Admissions

Applying for a school place in-year

An in-year admission is when a child needs an immediate school place during the school year.

There are two main reasons for this, you might be moving house or be unhappy with your child’s current school.

How to apply

You can apply for an in-year place up to four weeks before the place is needed. Exceptionally, parents seeking an in-year place starting in September can apply from May. These applications will be considered from June.

To make an application, you may do so online via the Hampshire County Council website or contact the school for a paper copy, applications will then be processed by County admissions.

Once received by the school, we aim to notify you of the outcome within 10 school days (and within a maximum of 15 school days).

If we are unable to offer a place, your child's name will be added to our waiting list. You will be advised of your right to appeal against this decision by contacting the County Admissions Team who will send the appropriate form and guidance notes.
