North Farnborough Infant School PE and Sports Premium Funding Statement
The government has allocated £150 million pounds of extra funding for schools to use to develop PE and sports and to ensure they develop healthy life styles in pupils. This money is ring fenced and schools will be held to account about how the funding has impacted on the provision of PE and sports. We believe that the allocation for the financial year 2017-18 will be approximately £17,910 as the funding has been doubled this year. As the school was not expecting this amount we are unable to state exactly how the all money will be spent this year as we need to investigate some new options.
As a school we need to ensure that we are committed to developing PE, sports and healthy lifestyles for our pupils even if the funding stops or changes. We have achieved this by ensuring that some of the funding has been spent on staff training, and by using specialist coaches. This has allowed for staff to develop their own subject knowledge and confidence in teaching PE so that lessons are of a high quality. Staff who have received the coaching/training will be able to pass on training to other members of staff if needed and improve their own delivery of lessons. Any equipment purchased is good quality so that it will last a number of years and children are reminded about how to use the equipment respectfully and look after it.
